Creating a Chart in ChartBlocks

Creating a Chart in ChartBlocks

In this lesson, we'll review how to create charts and graphs in ChartBlocks.

In this lesson, we’ll take a look at how you can create charts in ChartBlocks, so before we begin, you’ll want to make sure you’ve set up your ChartBlocks integration with Ceros. For step by step instructions on how to set this up, check out this Educate article.

In your ChartBlocks dashboard, click the plus sign to create a new chart. Here, you can either upload your own spreadsheet, or you can follow along with us and download this dataset we’re using to upload.

Once your data has been uploaded, you’ll be prompted to choose the type of chart you’d like to create, and from there a template to work off of. The templates are fully customizable and solely serve as a starting point to work from.

Once your template is chosen, you can click Customize to open the ChartBlocks design studio. Once here, you’ll be able to customize every piece of your chart from the colors, to the labels, the background, the legend and more.

Once your chart has been customized, you’ll be able to access it through the ChartBlocks button in the toolbar of your Ceros studio. In this video, we animate our chart by masking it with a square shape that Shrinks to the right. This gives the appearance that the bars in our graph are animating in.
