Pinning Objects in Place on Canvas

On of the most used feature of Ceros is the ability to pin specific objects or group of objects to a specific point in the viewport. This allows you to keep these objects always visible on the canvas, regardless of where the user scrolls on the canvas.

Note: Pinned objects do not currently work on full-height embedded experiences; only standalone experience and scrolling experiences.

Pin Object on Canvas

To create a pinned object:

  • Select one or more object in the layers panel
  • Ensure these objects exist above the fold
  • In the layout tab of the inspector window, select the pinned position toggle

To create a Pinned Group:

  • Select one or more Layers or objects in the Layer Panel
  • Ensure these objects exist above the fold
  • Click the Smart Group icon at the bottom of your Layers Panel

Smart Groups

  • Select the Smart Group you just created, and navigate to the Layout Tab on the Inspector Panel
  • Select “Pinned Position” to make your Smart Layer stick in place. Notice the outline turns green with a little push pin in the top left corner

Now you can scroll up and down, and your Smart Group stays right where you pinned it.

Can I pin to the bottom?

Pinned groups remain at a fixed distance from the top of your experience. Placing an element at the bottom of the viewport on a long scrolling page will stick it to that location. However, it will appear in the middle of the experience if your visitor happens to look at it in portrait mode on a mobile device.

Note: ensure your pinned object is above the fold.

Pinning in place works with standalone Experiences or embedded content using the default viewport size. This feature does not currently work with full-height embeds of long-form content.
