When you’re a marketing department at a startup, you face a lot of interesting hurdles. The existential threat of not growing compels you to generate leads fast. The long-term strategic direction of the company demands you use marketing tactics to identify which markets and segments your messages resonate in. And proving the business is scalable means building a durable growth engine, one built on a solid content and SEO strategy that drives interest and lead creation without doubling spend every three months.
Here at Ceros, this struggle over the last year has been a challenge, but mostly a lot of fun. We’ve learned a ton about what works and what doesn’t. This year, we want to take those foundational learnings and push ourselves to continue to grow. Where possible, we want to defy existing marketing norms and shake up the status quo.
One of our favorite blogs out there, GrooveHQ, features articles on the struggles of running a startup. It’s become a true inspiration for us. Completely transparent, their CEO is willing to discuss the failures that lead to successes. This idea of talking about how to do things, as well as the hurdles we’ve faced, feels like the right way to share our story and connect with you, our audience.
That’s why we’re launching Ceros Labs. Taking a transparent slant, we’ll be sharing the experiments we’re running in real time to improve the experience for our leads and prospects. We’ll also share our experiments to boost the amount of interest we can generate in Ceros. These articles will dive into our strategies, tactics, technology, and conversion metrics in an effort to show how we view problems and how we’re measuring success.
I hope you’ll join us on this journey. We look forward to comments, questions, and insights. With your help, we hope to make this series as insightful and interesting as possible.
