Digital Craft Weekly is a weekly design inspiration resource for interactive design and storytelling. Published each Monday, our mission is to inspire designers and content marketers with new ways of creating interactive content and immersive digital experiences.
Sequence Homepage by Sequence
It may seem obvious, but when it comes to finding some the best digital experiences online today, look no further than the home pages of the actual agencies responsible for creating them. From the brilliant photography and 3D-layered ripple animations to the clear and concise showcasing of their design process, London-based digital creative agency Sequence has one of our favorites as of late.
The Outline by Ivar Vong
Described as “a new kind of publication for a new kind of human,” The Outline is the latest project from American technology journalist and Verge co-founder Josh Topolsky. With an entirely new approach to sharing stories and cultural ideas based on a continuous scroll experience, the Outline scores major points for both its solid execution and bravery for blazing a new trail into the future of media and storytelling.
Good Egg Whites by MING Labs
Created as an easy-to-consume natural protein supplement in place of chemically-produced protein powders, Good Egg Whites, from the German Pumperlgsund brand, was created by a pair of fitness enthusiasts with a passion for clean eating. To help bring their vision of “clean living” to life, the company enlisted the designers at MING Labs to create this smooth and informative product page featuring attention-grabbing animations and an eye-opening scrolling experience.
In Pieces by Bryan James
Designed to “educate, inspire, and provoke thought,” In Pieces is the latest brain melting interactive digital exhibition from digital designer Bryan James. Although it started as a side project, it soon turned into an in-depth study into 30 of the world’s most interesting—yet also endangered—species. “Since hearing about CSS polygons, I’ve been a little surprised at the lack of furore around the technology, so I wanted to create something which not only worked as a project in itself but also pushed this underused line of code as far as possible,” explains James. Frankly, we just can’t get enough of that Pygmy 3-Toed Sloth.
Because Recollection by 84.Paris
Based on ten years of sound and twenty classic artworks from the Because Music collection, this interactive music experience produced by 84.Paris is a striking example of how adding just a thin layer of interactivity to the music listening experience can take it so much further.
