Digital Craft Weekly is a curated design inspiration resource for interactive designers and storytellers consisting of the best new digital projects. Published each Monday, our mission is to inspire new ways of creating interactive content and immersive digital experiences.
Sketch of Three.js by Yoichi Kobayashi
Created as a WebGL experiment by Japanese front-end engineer Yoichi Kobayashi, this small collection of distortable interactive web experiments is by far one of our favorite pieces of the week. While all of the experiments are worth a peek, we’re having a hard time taking our eyes off of the ridiculously cool-looking blob in the Distort piece.
Seasons Greetings by Astral
Just about everything that Munich-based design studio Astral touches turns to gold, so we’re not surprised that their Seasons Greetings card that came out this past December also takes things up a notch…or three. Starting with a trip through the infinite void to wish us Happy Holidays, we’re then met with personal signatures and interactive 3D scans of the agency’s design team. While the holidays may have come and gone, we hope to see a lot more from Astral in 2017!
What is Your Future? by Madeo
For those considering attending college, navigating the career crossroads and figuring out “what direction to go in” can be a challenging process. While we can’t say that it gets any easier as you get older, we can say that this clever interactive questionnaire from Tomas Bata University in the Czech Republic certainly takes a step in the right direction for making the self-reflection process a little more interesting.
Lookbook Winter 2017 by Wed’ze
There’s no shortage of ways to present a seasonal lookbook for your brand these days, but creating something that’s also enjoyable to interact with isn’t always easy. From the “Pull to Scroll” sidebar to their clever use of parallax, we’re loving the direction that Wed’ze took for their latest Winter 2017 collection site.
Black Rain by Marpi
From creative director and 3D artist Marpi comes yet another killer WebGL experiment to wrap the week up with. Created in tandem with illustrator Archan Nair and sound designer An on Bast, Black Rain is an unhurried virtual meditation inspired by rainfall and neon lights.
