Description
Ceros is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to be a part of our test team. You will take part in all aspects of the test cycle and ensure that our clients receive the highest quality product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write and execute test cases, including results analysis, cause identification, and reporting
- Write clear and concise bug reports and verify bug fixes
- Assist in the identification and continued improvement of testing tools and harnesses
- Provide ad-hoc support to Client Support teams
- Participate in product requirements and development sessions using testing approaches and best practices to contribute to design decisions and to ensure seamless integration of new features with current system functionality
You must have:
- At least 2 years previous experience in quality engineering
- Proficiency writing and executing web technology test plans (including Flash, HTML, JavaScript and PHP) that support large-scale, web-based, client-facing applications
- Willingness to test/debug/write/analyze/fix all levels of code; Understanding of SaaS and ASP environments
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of software engineering concepts and skills
- Direct experience in software development
- Proficient knowledge of Linux, Shell and Perl Scripting, PHP and HTML
- Strong communication and inter-personal skills. Ability to work across teams with geographically remote team members

Location: London
This is a key role in the technical team at Ceros. Working alongside the CTO and application architect you will be a true creative technologist, a link between the creative and technology teams, and an advocate for development best-practices. It is a hinge role that requires both aesthetic sensitivity and programmatic rigour. You will be instrumental in developing Flash and HTML based products that not only look fantastic, but are functional and technically best-in-class. You will have a working knowledge of HTML 5 and associated technologies, and be aware of developments in this field. You will also be used to writing high quality, clean and documented code.
You will be responsible for:
- The technical architecture of the front end of the product
- Designing the framework of the system and then working with the rest of the development team to bring the technical designs to reality
You must have:
- Expert knowledge of OO programming techniques and design pattern
- Excellent knowledge of ActionScript 3 (minimum 3 years)
- Fluent in either Flash Builder or FDT environment
- Demonstrable experience of developing and deploying AIR applications
- Expert understanding of Flash Components, and when and where to use them
- HTML 5 and associated web technologies, including CSS 3 and javascript
- Familiar with the following frameworks: jQuery, PureMVC and Cairngorm
- The ability to build dynamic and data-collating websites using web services
- An understanding of Flash accessibility and localisation techniques
- Use of documentation tools such as ASDoc
- Experience working with an offshore development team
- Excellent understanding of Flash Video (FLV) and video-related development techniques
- Professional experience using a flash remoting technology
